Clubs
Pupils can enhance their learning and development through numerous opportunities outside the weekly time-table of lessons. A variety of clubs and workshops organised by members of staff and external coaches take place during lunchtime and before and after school. We try to encourage all pupils to participate and engage in at least one activity during the school year.
In sport, teams have represented the school successfully at various levels in football, netball, cricket, handball, athletics, rounders, basketball, cross-country, tag rugby, rowing and table tennis. Sport & Health Week provides many children the chance to try different sports as well as the opportunity to compete against other pupils in inter house competitions. Early morning fitness club is well-supported and continues to be popular with many enthusiastic pupils. Sports Day is at the Thames Valley Athletics Ground and is held during sports week. We are part of the Windsor Sports Partnership and have access to external coaches and experts to supplement the skills and experience of our own team of PE teachers.
We run a chess club, art and music groups, maths surgeries, homework clubs and drama events. There are debates and a Public Speaking team that have much success in the local Rotary competitions. Our pupils have performed at the Farrer Theatre, Eton, Theatre Royal, Windsor, South Hill Park, Bracknell as well as on stage in the School Hall.
We contact parents of pupils that have not engaged in any activities during the school year to find out how we can improve our provision to try and engage every pupil.
