References for Pupils
Occasionally, we are approached by other schools to provide references for pupils. We wish to be clear as to the school policy on this. We do not provide references for pupils leaving in Years 5-7, or mid-year in Year 8 unless they are moving out of the area.
However, should we be approached then we will provide:
- Assessment results (inc SATs if applicable)
- Attendance certificate
- Tutor comment and AtL grades from the last end of year report
In year transfer forms are required to be signed by the headteacher and we ask that parents meet to discuss moving schools.
We will provide a reference for pupils leaving at the end of Year 8. The school require a 10 day (school day) notice period prior to the return deadline. Any reference related to boarding will require a meeting with the parent and child prior to completion. Reference requests for Year 8 leavers must be sent to the office. The school will liaise directly with the school requesting information.
