Pupil Achievement

The school publishes attainment and progress data for two year groups – Year 6 and 8.

All pupils in government maintained schools take public examinations at the end of key stage 2 (Year 6); these are called statutory Key Stage 2 Assessments (SATs).  Pupils sit examinations in Reading and Maths and undertake a teacher assessment in writing.  Writing assessments are moderated by the local authority.  These public examinations allow us to compare our school performance against all schools nationally.

Since May 2016, pupils have been assessed against the new national curriculum (introduced in September 2014).  Following that change, attainment at key stage 2 across the country dropped significantly due to the increased challenge of the new national curriculum.  Comparisons against years prior to this are difficult due to the change in how assessments are made.

Please see the link below for a parent's guide to Key Stage 2 assessments, published by the DfE.

As a middle school we also publish our Year 8 results as this is our exit data for our oldest year group. More detailed information can be found about the performance and expenditure and impact of pupil premium, Year 7 catch-up and sports premium in this section of our school website.
